MerryMakers was founded in 1993 with the goal of providing carefully designed dolls and toys based on the very best children's books, museum collections, and other characters for customers around the world. We handle all stages of product development, from design to the manufacture and delivery of finished products.
In addition to our line of licensed dolls, we make custom products for a wide variety of clients, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Louvre, Colonial Willamsburg, and publishers in the US and abroad.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recently instituted more stringent testing and labeling requirements, known as the CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008), for makers of children’s games and toys. We are pleased to announce that MerryMakers products already meet these new safety requirements and will still be deemed Safe For All Ages under the new regulations. (Note, as always, the hangtag must be removed before presenting to children under age 3.)
Our testing procedures follow strict guidelines. Before shipment, randomly selected dolls from each production run are tested by a CPSC accredited third-party laboratory in Hong Kong in accordance with US and Canadian safety standards, ASTM F963-07, 16 CFR 1303 and Canadian Hazardous Products Act. All dolls are tested for flammability, small parts, heavy metals, and general cleanliness. All plastic eyes and other components are lock-washered on. We keep the safety reports on file and would be happy to share them with you if questions arise.
We have steady, long-term relationships with our vendors and inspect our factories regularly. Our vendors are committed to providing safe working conditions for their employees, with no child or prison labor used, and production workers are paid a fair wage. We do not allow any of our production to be sub-contracted out.
